K&L Gates has announced the appointment of three corporate and transactional partners in its Sydney office.

Nick Humphrey, Hal Lloyd and Daniel Atkin have all joined K&L Gates from Sparke Helmore Lawyers.

Mr Humphrey (pictured) has more than 20 years' experience advising on a broad range of domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, as well as private equity transactions.

He is the author of the Australian Private Equity Handbook and is also the founder and chair of the Australian Growth Company Awards.

Mr Lloyd has more than 20 years of experience advising corporate acquirers, target boards, private equity funds, distressed investment funds, investment banks, and insolvency practitioners in Australia and the US.

His practice focuses on complex corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, buy-outs, capital raising, and distressed or restructuring transactions.

Mr Atkin is a corporate lawyer with a focus on M&A and private equity/venture capital transactions.

His clients include a mix of domestic and international large corporates, private equity, venture capital and corporate venture funds, and emerging companies.

Nick Nichola, K&L Gates’ managing partner Australia, said the firm is excited to welcome the trio to the partnership.

“Nick, Hal, and Daniel are each highly regarded corporate practitioners and their combined domestic and global experience will be of significant benefit to our clients,” he said.

K&L Gates recently appointed another partner trio from Holding Redlich; Philip Vickery, Brian Healey and Paul Hardman.

Partner Diane Skapinker and special counsel Vicki Aron also recently joined K&L Gates from Gilbert + Tobin.
