Maxine Feletti has returned to Sparke Helmore to lead its state compensation team in Canberra.

Ms Feletti (pictured) was most recently a principal adviser at Proximity Legal, providing onsite legal and work health and safety services to the government sector.

Upon returning to Sparke Helmore, Ms Feletti will focus on common law and statutory claims arising from workplace accidents and will also deal with work health and safety matters for the firm’s national safety team.

She has experience advising insurers, corporate employers and government agencies on statutory and common law claims, recoveries, regulatory compliance and risk management, coronial inquests, workplace behaviour matters and merits reviews.

She also has advisory and legal compliance audit experience and holds a qualification as a lead auditor in WHS management systems.

“I'm excited about returning to Sparke Helmore and look forward to enhancing the state compensation team's presence in the Canberra market and adding a local WHS legal and advisory capability to Sparke Helmore's national safety team,” Ms Feletti said.

Sparke Helmore also recently appointed partner Catherine Power, special counsel Jessica Bristol and consultant Colin Blain to its Canberra office.

The firm recently lost the head of its national employment team David Davies to Thomson Geer, while partners Nick Humphrey, Hal Lloyd and Daniel Atkin also recently left to join K&L Gates.
