Slater and Gordon senior associate Nicholas Mann has been promoted to head of the national firm’s medical law group in Victoria.

Nicholas Mann (pictured) has been appointed to head the Slater and Gordon medical law practice group in Victoria.

Mr Mann is an accredited personal injury specialist and will soon complete his health and medical law masters.

He joined Slater and Gordon over 10 years ago as a worker’s compensation lawyer in Canberra. Mr Mann continued with the firm after moving interstate to Dandenong and then Melbourne, where he practised as a motor vehicle accident lawyer.

Slater and Gordon’s new practice head has also served as the principal lawyer for the Attorney-General of Samoa and lectured on medical law at the Oceania University of Medicine.

Underscoring a “passion for medical law”, Mr Mann said he was looking forward to the challenge of his new role.

“I’m looking forward to leading the medical law team and working with my colleagues to get the best possible outcomes for our clients.

“While I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the motor vehicle accident team, I have a passion for medical law,” Mr Mann said.

Dina Tutungi, Slater and Gordon’s personal injury law general manager for Victoria, said Mr Mann was a valuable member of the team.

“Nick has played an active role in the advocacy for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, not only within the legal profession but also through making submissions to, and appearing as a witness in, parliamentary inquiries.

“He is constantly seeking to expand his skill set and has also made important contributions to the legal industry,” Ms Tutungi said.

Last month Slater and Gordon announced that young lawyer Nunzia Tartaglia would head its Victorian civil liability team.
