Mills Oakley has announced the appointment of a new partner as the firm looks to bolster its intellectual property strategy.
The national firm has welcomed Blair Beven to its Sydney office. Mr Beven joins the firm from AJ Park and brings with him broad experience in the development and enforcement of IP strategy, with a particular focus on litigation.

Mr Beven has experience in the management of patents and IP litigation involving patent infringement, copyright and designs, as well as breaches and defences relating to the Australian Consumer Law.
His diverse client base includes fashion designers, celebrities, production companies and executives within the entertainment industry. He also works for a number of cosmetic and clothing/active wear companies.
Mr Beven’s appointment marks the fifth partner appointment in Mills Oakley’s Sydney commercial disputes team.
Mills Oakley CEO John Nerurker said Mr Beven’s appointment was part of the firm’s strategy to develop more specialised offerings within the its “full service” concept.
“Clients are increasingly demonstrating a preference for lawyers with a specialist skill set and Blair’s deep knowledge of trademarks and IP disputes is a great example of the kind of specialist knowledge which is in high demand,” he said.
