William Roberts names new special counsel

William Roberts Lawyers has announced the appointment of a new special counsel.

Brian Silva joined the team’s Sydney office, bringing with him an extensive background in insurance and commercial litigation.

Throughout his career, Mr Silva has acted for some of Australia’s largest insurers and for various self-insurers. He is a highly experienced advocate and litigator, and an experienced legal and commercial adviser.

Mr Silva has worked on building and construction insurance, particularly in home warranty insurance matters.

He has also dealt with subrogated recoveries, recoveries under deeds of indemnity and guarantees, complex motor vehicle property damage claims, and workers compensation claims including defence of work injury damages claims.
