Mr Wilson is an experienced litigator with a particular focus on commercial and insurance disputes, construction and insolvency.

He has experience with a wide range of matters including complex commercial and insolvency litigation, insurance litigation, construction disputes and professional indemnity and negligence and is also an accredited specialist in dispute resolution.

Before joining Hicksons, Mr Wilson was the executive head at DWF Australia’s Newcastle office, practising as a principal lawyer in its commercial disputes and insolvency group, and prior to that he was special counsel at Sparke Helmore Lawyers.

“I was attracted to Hicksons because of the firm’s history and its family-friendly and flexible culture. In addition, the fact that the firm is looking to grow in uncertain times gives me confidence for the future,” Mr Wilson said on the move.

“This is an expansion opportunity and I look forward to using my broad experience across construction, commercial litigation and insolvency to grow the firm through client retention and acquisition.”
