HWL EBSWORTH is expanding rapidly across all four of its offices, recently announcing the appointment of six new partners and the internal promotion of three partners.

Peter Bramwell joins the firm’s commercial team in Melbourne. He brings to the firm 25 years’ experience, with particular expertise in the energy and resources sector.

Paul Graham will head up the firm’s building and construction team in Melbourne. He specialises in dispute resolution with a focus on construction-related matters, and has appeared as an advocate in mediation, arbitration and litigation in Australia, England and Asia.

Denis Hall joins the firm’s Norwest Business Park, Sydney office. He has worked in the law for more than 25 years and has broad experience across property law, conveyancing, commercial law, wills and estates, commercial litigation, business law, building and construction and land and environment law.

Jonathan Kramersh joins the firm’s Melbourne litigation group. Kramersh practises in all aspects of commercial litigation, reconstruction and insolvency, with particular emphasis on asset recovery, contracts, trade practices disputes and regulatory compliance.

Maurice Thompson will lead HWL’s maritime, trade and transport team in Melbourne. He has national and international experience providing specialist legal services on shipping, international trade and insurance matters.

Stuart Westgarth joins the firm’s Sydney CBD office in the litigation team. Westgarth has more than 30 years’ experience, specialising in commercial litigation, banking recovery and enforcement litigation, insolvency, maritime law and product liability. He has worked with major corporations, including banks and manufacturers.

Rachel Weeks and Mark Lightfoot have been promoted to partner in the firm’s Brisbane commercial team. Weeks specialises in funds management, capital raising and privacy, while Lightfoot focuses on banking and finance.

Fanoula Galanakis, a member of HWL’s Melbourne commercial team, has also been promoted to partner. She specialises in intellectual property, assisting clients on matters relating to trademarks, copyright, designs, patents, trade secrets, confidential information, computer software and domain names.
