BRISBANE FIRM Carter Newell has promoted four members of its team, three to the position of senior associate and one to the position of associate. The firm has also appointed a new senior associate.

James Plumb has been promoted to senior associate in the firm’s corporate and commercial team. Plumb has expertise in corporate and resource matters, including acquisitions and sales, regulatory advice and drafting, pipeline project and general property issues. He’s also recently completed a long-term secondment with a national petroleum producer.

Nola Pearce has become a senior associate in the firm’s commercial dispute resolution and professional liability team. Her experience includes advising clients in relation to policy coverage issues and handling the defence of litigated claims across a range of professions and industries.

Amy Gill has been promoted to senior associate in the firm’s property and injury liability team. Gill advises on indemnity/policy interpretation liability, quantum and evidentiary issues for both insurers and self-insured clients. She also conducts the defence of a wide range of personal injury, public liability, product liability and professional indemnity claims.

John Savage has become an associate in the firm’s commercial dispute resolution team. He advises clients on a broad range of commercial and insurance issues including commercial property litigation, professional indemnity insurance, debt recovery and insolvency.

In addition, a new senior associate, Jonathan Cheyne, has joined the firm’s corporate and commercial team. Cheyne specialises in mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, capital raisings and company floats and corporate governance, and has previously worked with Cameron Jorss, a partner in the team.
