BRONWYN POTT, CEO of Sydney-based practice Swaab Attorneys, was recently appointed as the president of the Australian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA).

One of Potts’ primary goals as president is to increase the profile of ALPMA and to continue to grow the group’s professional development program.

“We aim to provide an authoritative voice on issues relevant to the broad range of management fields in legal practice … The next two years will see our primary focus on delivering a high-calibre speakers program. The legal management summit will be held in Sydney in 2008 and we are very committed to providing a program that is strategic and practical,” she said.

She hopes to extend the reach of ALPMA in the legal market “where we believe professional managers really do ‘add value’ to the business of law”.

Pott has had an active history with ALPMA, having previously held the positions of founding member, treasurer and more recently the director of education where she played a key role in the development of the Diploma of Practice Management.
