THE CORPORATE practice of New Zealand firm Minter Ellison Rudd Watts has grown significantly with the appointment of three new senior lawyers who bring to the firm considerable international experience.

Silvana Schenone joins the firm with extensive corporate and commercial experience in the US. She was previously at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and has worked as general counsel for Unilever Chile and Coca-Cola Company in Chile on secondment. Schenone specialises in commercial major transactions, international arbitration and M&A transactions and will build the firm’s Latin American practice.

Jeremy Patson advises clients in a range of general commercial and corporate matters, including incorporation, structuring, financing and securities and insolvency. He has particular expertise in the telecommunications and technology industries, having previously worked as in-house counsel for an international telecommunications company based in London and for Telecom New Zealand.

Paul Mathewson joins Minter Ellison Rudd Watts from the UK where he was a senior lawyer and manager of Tesco’s UK consumer and regulatory legal team. He also advised Tesco’s businesses on regulatory compliance, risk management and general commercial matters. He now advises clients on a matters ranging from consumer, regulatory, product, trading, health and safety and advertising law.
