COMPETITION LAWYERS Kathryn Edghill and Graham Maher, along with a team of specialist lawyers and administrative support staff, have joined Addisons.

Edghill is a competition lawyer valued for her commercially grounded legal advice and expertise. She said that “Addisons is a firm where partners can, and do, establish close links to their clients, unburdened by bureaucracy”.

“At the same time the partnership here exists as a very close-knit team, able to quickly muster specialist legal skills as required by our clients. That level of agility and speed is increasingly important to corporate clients of all sizes.”

Maher has worked both in private practice and in-house, combining commercial, regulatory and competition experience.

“We have developed a strong competition and trade practices team which we have brought with us to Addisons,” he said. “Our clients can expect a seamless transition, and Addisons’ current and future clients will now have access to this depth of experience in competition and trade practices law.”

Joining them at the firm are senior associate Jenny McLean and solicitor Ainslie Baird.

“Every corporate client has a competition issue of some form, yet in the past it has been perceived as somehow the province of only the largest law firms,” managing partner David Blackburn said.

“Addisons is continually refining itself in order to meet the needs of our clients, and we realised that [Edghill] and [Maher] and their team will be able to tackle many of the thorny competition issues our clients face,” he said.

“This again builds on our skills and resources base, which for clients looking for efficiency and value help make Addisons a compelling alternative to other firms.”
