Corporate and communications firm, Truman Hoyle, has appointed Sylvia Raptis as a lawyer in its technology and intellectual property team. She joins a number of recent appointments to the firm’s team in this area of law and will particularly focus on advising the firm’s software and media clients. Raptis was most recently a lawyer with Griffin Vincent Technology and Intellectual Property Lawyers.

Thomson Playford has appointed John Murray as partner within its workplace relations, hospitality and gaming practice group. He joined Thomson Playford in 2004 as senior associate and will continue to practise in the areas of employment-related litigation, occupational health and safety and workplace relations. Murray will move from Thomson Playford’s Sydney office to Adelaide following his appointment.

Trans-Tasman law firm Minter Ellison Rudd Watts has appointed a senior associate and a special counsel in Wellington, as well as an HR/IR consultant in Auckland. Scott Gallacher rejoins the Wellington office from Minter Ellison’s Canberra office as special counsel in international trade and public law. Michael Dewhirst also joins the Wellington office as a senior associate in the property team. Sam Audeau has joined the Auckland office as HR/IR consultant after two years with an international insurance company, and two years in the public sector.
