David Sarkin has joined Holding Redlich as special counsel — corporate. Prior to joining Holding Redlich, he was a senior associate in the corporate group at Freehills in Melbourne and then commercial manager and legal counsel with Industry Funds Management. Sarkin has significant experience in M&A, equity capital markets, private equity and general corporate advisory work.

Herbert Geer & Rundle has appointed two partners and a senior associate. Graham Phillips has joined the firm’s intellectual property, information technology and media and entertainment group as a partner. Phillips, formerly with Allens Arthur Robinson, has expertise across the full range of commercial, litigious, regulatory and competition legal services in the telecommunications, technology and media sectors. Partner Tony DAgostino will reinforce the firm’s property services group in Sydney. He has joined HGR from Coudert Brothers and adds to the firm’s capability in property development with an emphasis on major residential and commercial/industry projects. Sue Morgan-Dethick has been promoted to senior associate within the media and entertainment team.

Deacons has appointed five partners to its Sydney office from Coudert Brothers. Lexia Wilson has extensive experience advising on property transactions, including commercial, industrial and retail leasing, acquisitions, disposals and developments, property trusts and real estate funds management. Peter Norman is a senior tax partner with 22 years tax experience. He also has significant experience in commercial matters, in particular in the foreign investment area. Mark Driscoll has more than 20 years experience advising public and private sector organisations on all aspects of local government, planning, environmental law, real estate and construction law. Geoff Sutherland has 25 years experience in banking and finance law and has acted in all aspects of corporate and structured financing facilities and securities, syndications, insolvency, partnership law, property financing and joint ventures. Max Einfeld has substantial experience and expertise in all aspects of commercial law, with an emphasis on tax and stamp duty based structuring.
