With 20 years of experience, Smith has advised private and government clients on a range of commercial issues and has appeared in all jurisdictions as both a solicitor and counsel, during his seven years at the Victorian Bar.

In addition to his general commercial practice, Smith specialises in intellectual property and is a registered trademarks attorney.

Having mentored many junior lawyers over the years and having previously taught in the LLB program at Monash University and at Swinburne University, Smith hopes to use his experience to assist graduates in making the transition from the university environment to legal practice.
