Clayton Utz has appointed construction dispute resolution lawyer Geoffrey Shaw as partner.

Shaw, who has practised in the Hong Kong market for over 20 years, brings high-level experience in construction-related arbitration and litigation, as well as alternative dispute resolution (mediation and adjudication).

Shaw has advised clients across the Asia Pacific, including the Hong Kong Government in relation to disputes arising from the Chek Lap Kok new airport project; the construction of a nuclear power plant in China and a multi-billion dollar claim relating to a steel mill in Southern China.

Shaw's arrival follows Clutz's recent appointment of consultant Ian Frieman, a leading transactional projects and construction lawyer in the region.

"Just over one year on from the launch of our Hong Kong office we are seeing continued strong demand from clients for specialist legal services in the construction area," said Clutz's Hong Kong managing partner, Colin Dodd
