Piper Alderman has announced mid-year promotions that include the appointment of Megan Calder as a partner in the firm's national property and projects division.

Calder joined the firm in October 2009 in Melbourne and has since become a key member of the firm's national construction team.

While her expertise does include non-litigious matters, Calder has dispute experience across the spectrum of construction-based problems and has been involved in disputes across all jurisdictions, ranging from the High Court of Australia to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Managing partner Tony Phelps said Calder had "proved herself to be a gun" in the two years that she has been with Piper Alderman.

The firm has also promoted Adelaide-based Leanne McClurg to senior associate within its energy and resources group and Jane Wolfe to senior associate in its property and projects team in Melbourne.

In Sydney, partner Wally McDonald joined the corporate division and Tim Capelin joined the partnership in the employment relations team.

In Adelaide, special counsel Donna Benge and Rod Foster Jones joined the property and projects team.

Melbourne-based corporate lawyer Penny Chalke was also promoted to associate, along with Sydney-based dispute resolution lawyer Kelly Douglas and Adelaide-based property and projects lawyer Kelly Scott.
