HWL Ebsworth announced on 13 March that it has hired former Clayton Utz litigation partner Richard Mereine.
Mereine has practised as a litigator for 37 years, including 22 years as a partner at Clayton Utz. He will join HWL Ebsworth's Melbourne office as a partner on 2 April.

Before joining Clayton Utz, Mereine was a partner for 11 years at a South African law firm.
With extensive experience nationally and internationally in commercial, corporate and restrictive trade practices matters, Mereine has advised clients who have been the subject of inquiries and charges by regulatory authorities, including the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
