Russell Kennedy advises on cereal breeding deal

Russell Kennedy lawyers have advised cereal breeding company InterGrain on a barley breeding collaboration with another company.

The firm’s principal Andrew Chalet and senior associates Peytee Grusche and Jonathan Teh advised on the collaboration with Syngenta.

 
 

The collaboration centres on breeding, germplasm exchange, technology development and commercialisation with a view to creating leading barley varieties for growers in Australia and internationally.

InterGrain will be responsible for breeding in Australia using InterGrain and Syngenta germplasm. Syngenta will also gain exclusive rights to commercialise all new InterGrain barley varieties, and will gain the rights to commercialise existing InterGrain varieties internationally.
