Deal significance: The consortium concluded negotiations for the sale late last month. The sale represents News Limited’s last ownership stake in NRL clubs. McFarlane said he was pleased to advise on the transaction: “The Melbourne Storm is one of Australia’s dominant sporting franchises and we were privileged to work alongside the team’s new owners during the purchase.”
