Deal: The sale of the former Amcor Paper mill site in Alphington to a consortium involving the Alpha Group, Coles and the Glenvill Group

Area: Property

Value: $120 million; the developed value of the site is estimated at $1 billion

Key players: Henry Kalus (pictured) of Kalus Kenny Intelex, with support from Denise Wightman, led the transaction for the Glenvill Group. Nathaniel Popelianski of Corrs, with support from Andrew Leadstrom, acted for Amcor. Simone Menz and Emily Masters from KWM acted for the Alpha Group

Deal significance: This is the largest-ever residential sale in Victoria; the Glenvill Group acquired the residential component of the site.  The sale and site approval will allow a new mini suburb to be built on the 16.5 hectare site adjacent to the Yarra River just seven kilometres from Melbourne CBD, which will accommodate 3000 people in up to 1500 dwellings.
