Law firms drink to water deal

DLA Piper and Maddocks have acted on Waterlogic’s latest acquisition in the Australian market.

Deal: Waterlogic Australia’s purchase of Unlimited Water Pty Ltd, which makes and services filtered water dispensers.

Value: Undisclosed

Area: M&A

Key players: The DLA Piper team was led by M&A partner Dr Gerry Bean (pictured) and senior associate Dylan Burke, with assistance from solicitors Asher Seifman and Nick Kefalianos. Julian Smith from Maddocks advised Unlimied Water Pty Ltd).

Deal significance: Waterlogic Australia is a subsidiary of the US-based Waterlogic group, a provider of point-of-use (POU) water purification systems and dispensers for offices, schools, hospitals, restaurants and homes across Europe, the United Kingdom, North America and Australia.

The deal follows Waterlogic’s acquisition of the Australian business of Just Water International Limited earlier this year, and the acquisition of the Cool Clear Water Group Ltd in 2013.
