Area: M&A

Deal significance: International company Imagine Enterprises Limited has acquired Australian travel company Holiday Planet Pty Ltd.
Holiday Planet is based in Perth and is one of Australia’s largest privately owned online travel companies, according to a statement from DLA Piper.
The Holiday Planet Group includes the HolidayPlanet, CruisePlanet, FlightPlanet, HotelPlanet and SeniorsPlanet brands.
The acquisition follows Imagine Cruising Group’s expansion into the Australian market 12 months ago. Imagine Cruising Group is headquartered in the UK, with offices in Cape Town, Dubai and Brisbane. It is 51 per cent owned by dnata, a division of the Emirates Group.
DLA Piper lead partner Gerry Bean said the acquisition would help Imagine Enterprises expand its Australian footprint.
“We are pleased to advise Imagine Enterprises on this strategic transaction, as it further develops its business operations across Australia,” he said.
“The acquisition of Holiday Planet provides a foothold in the Western Australian market, and expands the range of travel options the group can offer Australian holidaymakers.”
