Head of White & Case’s global commercial litigation practice, Glenn Kurtz, welcomed Mr Macpherson to the team. He described the new partner as a market-leading disputes lawyer.

“Hamish has helped his clients address conflicts that may emerge throughout a project’s life cycle,” Mr Kurtz said.

“As a result, he will enhance our practice’s capabilities to handle complex litigation that commonly arises out of the development of infrastructure, resources and energy projects.”

In a statement provided by White & Case, the firm said its Global commercial litigation team acted for clients in all types of trial, appellate, regulatory and alternative dispute resolution tribunals around the world.

The firm added that it counted financial institutions, large corporations, sovereign governments, executives and directors among its clients, advising them “through their most significant litigation challenges”.

Eric Berg, White & Case partner and head of Asia-Pacific said: “Hamish has successfully acted for clients on a number of landmark cases in Australian courts. He will draw on these experiences to advise our clients in high-stakes commercial disagreements that take place on the ground in Australia.”
