InfraRed buys 40% stake in wind farm from Macquarie
InfraRed Capital Partners has been advised by King & Wood Mallesons on its acquisition of a 40 per cent equity stake in a Victorian-based greenfield onshore wind farm.

Deal: KWM has advised InfraRed on its acquisition of a 40 per cent equity stake in the Lal Lal Wind Farm, located in Victoria’s central highlands, from Macquarie Capital.
Value: Undisclosed.
Area: Mergers and acquisitions.
Key players: The KWM team was led by partner Claire Rogers, who was supported by partner Dominic Bortolizzi, senior associate Neena Aynsley and associates Paul Scott and Lachlan Fahey.
Deal significance: The wind farm — which is currently under construction, with an expected completion date of late 2019 — will have capacity to generate a combined output of over 660,000 Mwh annually, enough energy to power over 92,000 households.
Speaking about the acquisition, Ms Rogers said: “We are proud to have supported InfraRed on this significant acquisition, which marks an important milestone for InfraRed’s global energy platform in bringing in InfraRed’s experience in greenfield energy projects across the Americas and Europe to support the generation of clean energy in Australia.”
