“I would like to thank our chair Bunja Smith, our directors, our executive team and all of our staff in NSW and the ACT for working closely with me over the past 18 months to ensure that the ALS remains in good shape now and in the future.”

ALS chair Bunja Smith said during his time as CEO, Mr Turner helped develop and implement a bold restructure of the organisation.

“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Les for his valuable contribution to the ALS over the past 18 months,” Mr Smith said.

“Under Les’ guidance, we’ve set a new strategic direction for the ALS by successfully undertaking an organisational restructure.

“The ALS has greatly benefited from Les’ wise leadership and his wealth of experience has strengthened our relationships with governments and other key stakeholders, helping us continue providing high-quality legal services to Aboriginal people and their families, at a time of ever-growing demand.”
