Her expertise extends to the structuring of private equity acquisitions and tax litigation.

Georges Simon also joins from Loyens & Loeff Luxembourg, where he worked from 2009.

He is experienced in advising global clients on cross-border transactions and group restructurings, with expertise in Luxembourg’s domestic tax law and tax litigation, inclusive of real estate transactions.

Elaborating on the new office, Ashurst’s managing partner Paul Jenkins said “the opening of our Luxembourg office is a great opportunity for the firm to grow our offering and build on the proven track record of our established Luxembourg desk.

“I would also like to welcome Cécile and Georges to the firm,” he continued.

“We are delighted that they are joining the team and they will allow us to capitalise fully on the many positive opportunities in the year ahead.”

Managing partner for the Luxembourg office, Isabelle Lentz, echoed Mr Jenkins’ sentiments, by saying “Cécile and Georges are both well respected practitioners, with impressive technical expertise and experience in key sectors in which we advise.”

“Having strong tax capability will form a critical part of the offering in our new Luxembourg office and we are confident that they will play a key role in its success,” Ms Lentz explained.

Commenting on their respective appointments, Ms Henlé said “joining Ashurst at this stage of the development of its Luxembourg capability is a great opportunity and I look forward to working with the Luxembourg and global tax team to further develop the offering for clients.”

Mr Simon expressed his delight at joining the firm and contributing to the growth of Ashurst’s new office, noting “this will be the perfect platform from which to grow the business.”
