Multinational firm pulls KWM heavyweight

A multinational has announced the appointment of a new corporate and resources partner to join its growing Perth ranks.

Shaun McRobert joins MinterEllison’s West Australian office as a partner in its capital markets and corporate division, effective immediately.

Previously an M&A group partner with King & Wood Mallesons, Mr McRobert brings his specialist knowledge across equity capital markets, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and energy and resources for Chinese, Singaporean and Japanese clientele.

According to MinterEllison, Mr McRobert “has a significant record advising on major foreign investment transactions”.

Excpressing his delight to be appointed as part of the MinterEllison team, the Perth-based lawyer is “excited by the steadfast regional focus and determination of the firm to be the leading independent law firm headquartered in Australia.

He is also looking forward to playing his part for the firm “in driving further growth in the Perth office, China and our Asia-Pacific regional practices”.

Managing partner of MinterEllison’s Perth office Matthew Knox said, “We are delighted to see further expansion of our Perth practice with the admission of such a quality partner as Shaun.”

For China markets and country desks leader Adam Handley, the team is excited to have Mr McRobert joining “at a time of significant expansion of and growth in our China practice”.

He noted that Mr McRobert will work closely with the China team across all offices, and said “his appointment comes at a time of significant importance in the bi-lateral relationship”.
