Ashurst recruits new IP partner
Ashurst has appointed a new intellectual property partner as the firm looks to bolster its expertise in this practice area.
The international law firm has hired Nina Fitzgerald as a partner in its intellectual property practice, based in Sydney. Ms Fitzgerald joins Ashurst from Deacons in Hong Kong. Prior to this, she was employed at Herbert Smith Freehills.

Ms Fitzgerald specialises in patent litigation. In addition, she has acted in a range of IP law matters, including in the trademark, copyright, designs and confidential information areas, according to a statement from Ashurst.
Global head of Ashurst’s IP team, Lisa Ritson, congratulated Ms Fitzgerald on her new role.
“Nina’s appointment is a key part of our strategy to continue to invest in our first tier IP practice in Australia and to build the firm’s global intellectual property footprint,” Ms Ritson said.
“Nina is a highly regarded and accomplished practitioner whose outstanding expertise in patent litigation will enhance our leading IP practice and add real value to our clients.”
