Surry Hills boutique bought by luxury hotel group
Ashurst has advised the leisure and accommodation arm of GA Group Australia on its acquisition of a boutique hotel based in Sydney’s Surry Hills.

The Little Albion boutique hotel is described as being one of Australia’s newest boutique hotels. It was developed and designed by Paul Fischmann, who is the founder and owner of 8Hotels.
According to a statement from Ashurst, the Little Albion comprises 35 rooms, and is located in a Surry Hills heritage building. The building was constructed in 1903 as a school convent and was later transformed into a modern guest house.
This transaction by Crystalbrook adds to the group’s $400 million investment in three Cairns hotels. Its collection also includes a lodge in Queensland’s outback, as well as the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina in Port Douglas.
