BAKER & MCKENZIE has advised on a hotel management agreement for an award-winning resort in Phuket, Thailand.

Due to open later this year, the resort has been gaining recognition in the construction phase, having already scooped an award for being environmentally friendly.

Bakers advised Central & City Developments Ltd (CCDL) on the agreement with Outrigger Enterprises Group to manage the West Sands Outrigger Resort, a new 400-room luxury full-service hotel and spa.

Set on Mai Khao Beach in Thailand’s Phuket, the West Sands Resort will include the new West Sands Outrigger Resort Hotel, 98 villas, 336 condominiums and a water park.

Baker & McKenzie partner Graeme Dickson and associate Robert Macredie were the legal advisors to CCDL on the management agreements with Outrigger, a United States-based hotel management and development company.

Dickson said the firm was thrilled to have played a part in this transaction, which is also the fifth negotiation in Thailand settled out of the firm’s Sydney office.
