Throughout his career he has been responsible for the administration of consumer claims for over 500 clients through the Commonwealth Bank’s Open Advice Review Program, a scheme created to review poor financial planning advice provided to CBA customers and compensate them for investment losses, a statement from S&G confirmed.
“Recruiting a practice leader such as James helps us execute our growth mission in Queensland,” the firm’s Queensland general manager Karen Murphy said.
“Unlocking access to justice for our clients who are not aware of their insurance policy entitlements is a simple but effective way of enhancing the real value we provide for our clients.”
Commenting on his new role, Mr Hunter said: “I am excited to be joining Australia’s leading consumer rights and compensation practice”.
“I have always admired Slater and Gordon’s client focus and the patronage they have received from all Australians needing advice, particularly Queenslanders. Many personal injury firms in Queensland transact traditional personal injury claims yet many clients have further entitlement under their compulsory superannuation insurance. This is often overlooked.
“Slaters has a great depth from its national footprint and a long history of acting for clients in the disability and superannuation insurance space. I look forward to complimenting that knowledge base and acting for our deserving clients.”
