Davies Collison Cave expands scope

Davies Collison Cave has bolstered its Australian practice with the recruitment of three new principals and several managing associates and senior associates.

DCC has appointed Sally Foreman, Grant Stonier and Tania Uren as its newest principals.

Ms Foreman advises on all aspects of trademarks including, selection, searching, prosecution, opposition and infringement in Australia and internationally, according to a statement from the firm. She specialises in protecting brands online, including domain name disputes.

Mr Stonier specialises in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for a broad spectrum of engineering technologies, DCC explained.

His background lies in aerospace, mechanical and systems engineering, and he also has experience in a variety of other areas including medical, robotics, mining, and computer technologies, it noted.

Meanwhile, Ms Uren specialises in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in a range of biotechnology-related areas, including immunotherapy, microbiology, vaccines, regenerative medicine, molecular biology, and medical diagnostics. She also advises her clients on patent validity, infringement and contentious matters, and provides strategic advice in relation to their patent portfolios, the statement from DCC said.

Elsewhere, DCC has elevated two of its staff to managing associate positions: Aaron Yates and Fiona Galbraith.

The firm has also declared five new senior associates: Nigel Pereira, Jillian Lim, Kian Hoe Khoo, Nicholas Butera and Felicity Dalle Nogare.
