Mr Fraiser, head of project finance, said: “Projects and project finance sits at the heart of Ashurst’s global strategy. Truly a leading figure in project finance, Betty joins us to help us deliver on our ambition to be the world’s leading firm in this arena.”
Ms Cerini, whose law career extends back to the 1980s, has been a “key player” on the development of project finance law. She has garnered a wide range of accolades, including consistent recognition in leading legal directors, the firm noted.
On her new role, Ms Cerini said: “Ashurst has an exceptional reputation and platform in the global project finance market. Being part of the team with serious ambitions and helping to further extend its market-leading position is a fantastic opportunity.”
Ashurst said she has “unparalleled” experience in advising clients on development, financing, construction and operation of capital intensive projects, including projects and public-private partnerships in transport, energy and water sectors.
Mr Fraiser said the firm is serious about its intention “to be one the world’s leading project firms”, having already hired 10 lateral partners across the globe. He said this new appointment “is a critical part of that ambition”.
