Dicker Data buys New Zealand’s ‘second-largest’ IT distributor
Global law firm K&L Gates has advised Australian-headquartered company Dicker Data Limited on its acquisition of New Zealand’s second-largest IT distributor.

Key players: The K&L Gates team was led by corporate partners Russell Lyons and Clive Cachia, who were assisted by tax partner Betsy-Ann Howe, employment partner Nick Ruskin, technology partner Cameron Abbott, property partner Jennifer Degotardi, environment and planning partner Kirstie Richards and competition partner Ayman Guirguis, special counsel Leslie Petro, Rob Pulham and Warwick Andersen, senior associates Adam Moore, Luke Salem and Priscilla Ng, lawyers Harriet Alexander, Jacqui Patishman, Max Evans, Nikita Scott and Victoria Cai, and graduates Jocelyn Leung and Lindsay Stevens.
Deal significance: Dicker Data Limited is an Australian-owned and operated company, while Exeed Group is headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand and is described as the second-largest IT distributor in the country.
As per a statement provided by K&L Gates, Exeed Group holds a dominant market share across the vendors they represent and is the leading distributor of key technology brands including Apple, HP, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Microsoft with a focus on both the commercial and retail sectors.
“We’re delighted that Dicker Data continues to entrust our firm with its global legal challenges, and are excited to see its expansion across New Zealand,” Mr Lyons said, commenting off the back of the deal.
