Deal: Mills Oakley has assisted Cairns-based NORSTA Maritime to secure a $70 million maintenance contract with the Royal Australian Navy.

 
 

Value: $70 million.

Key players: The team was led by corporate partner Daniel Livingston.

Deal significance: The five-year contract will see NORSTA appointed as the regional maintenance provider to deliver the Cairns Regional Maintenance Centre, one of four maintenance centres to be developed at strategic ports around the country.

NORSTA will build a regional sovereign sustainment capability by developing and maintaining supply chains, nurturing existing regional capabilities and establishing new capabilities as required by the Navy.

Commenting on the deal, Mr Livingston said: “We congratulate NORSTA on securing this key contract and role in delivering an important regional facility which will help deliver jobs in Far North Queensland and facilitate national security.”
