‘28 by Sam Wood’ acquired for $71.2m

Exercise and nutrition program “28 by Sam Wood” has been acquired by Melbourne-founded genomics company myDNA.

Deal: Melbourne-founded genomics company myDNA has successfully acquired exercise and nutrition program “28 by Sam Wood, one of Australia’s most popular at-home digital fitness programs, with more than 400,000 participants since its inception, in a $71.2 million deal.

Area: M&A

Value: $71.2 million

Key players: The KCL team was led by principal Darren Brown (pictured), who was assisted by principal Daniel Kovacs, special counsel Roger Rothfield, head of property Morgan Scholz, and senior associate Nadeem Hekmat.

Deal significance: Mr Brown said: “I congratulate my client myDNA on the successful acquisition of the exercise and nutrition program 28 by Sam Wood.

“I wish them all the best with their aspirations to further expand the platform into global markets.”
