PACT Group acquires Synergy Packing from plastic manufacturing giant

ASX-listed packaging and recycling company PACT Group has been assisted in its acquisition of Synergy Packaging from Berry Global Group by Thomson Geer.

Deal: PACT Group has acquired Synergy Packaging from international packaging company Berry Global Group, which included engagement with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), which approved the acquisition.

Deal significance: PACT’s ability to serve customers in making wellness, pharmaceutical and personal care products has been enhanced by this acquisition.

PACT’s acquisition of the Victoria-based Synergy group from Berry Global Group (listed as one of the largest producers of plastic packaging in the world, according to the New York Stock Exchange) has been referred to as “a transformative deal” for PACT by Thomson Geer partner Matthew Reynolds by expanding its market offering to new clients and customers.

“Thomson Geer brought a range of skills and expertise to helping make this deal happen, including ensuring it met the requirements of regulators such as the ACCC,” Mr Reynolds said.
