Key players: The Squire Patton Boggs team was led by corporate partner Michael Gajic, supported by partners Ashley Rose and Nicola Martin, tax counsel Louise Boyce and associates Matthew Flanagan-Roberts, Sophie Davey, Sarah Roper and David Horton.

Deal significance: Aware Services is an Australian-owned consultancy specialising in salesforce, data and analytics.

Dentsu is a multinational media and digital marketing communications firm.

This transaction will see Aware Services come under the umbrella of Merkle, dentsu’s technology-enabled, data-driven customer experience management business.

The acquisition will allow Merkle to expand its salesforce capabilities and is an important step in its strategic plan to become the leading customer transformation provider in Australia, a statement from Squire Patton Boggs said.

Commenting on the deal, lead partner Michael Gajic said: “Transactions such as this remind us why we enjoy working with founders and seeing their innovation and efforts rewarded.

We look forward to seeing the future growth and success of the Aware Services business as part of the dentsu and Merkle ANZ group.”
