National law firm PCL Lawyers has made two lateral partner hires to bolster its senior team, who bring with them a combined 42 years of legal expertise to the firm.
PCL Lawyers has bolstered its capabilities in family law and financial services with the addition of two partners: one from KHQ Lawyers and one from Thomson Geer.
New partners Clementina Maione and Stanley Drummond join the firm’s Melbourne and Sydney offices, respectively.
Maione joins from KHQ Lawyers, where she was a principal lawyer, and brings more than 20 years of legal experience to her new role, as well as considerable expertise in complex property disputes and sensitive children’s matters. She also previously spent 15 years as a lawyer at Maione Lawyers, as well as served as a special counsel at national law firm Mills Oakley. At PCL, she will lead the firm’s family law expansion into Adelaide while continuing her established practice in Melbourne.
Drummond joins from national firm Thomson Geer, where he was a partner. He has also served as a partner at HWL Ebsworth and held a variety of in-house legal roles over his 22-year legal career to date. He has extensive experience advising clients on superannuation, insurance, ASIC regulatory matters, and complex commercial disputes, as well as comprehensive industry knowledge and technical expertise.
Commenting on the new appointments, managing partner Glenn Duker said the new partners would enhance the firm’s capabilities across the country.
“We are thrilled to welcome Clementina and Stanley to our senior team. Stanley’s extensive experience in financial services complements our commercial practice, enhancing our ability to provide sophisticated, practical legal advice to clients nationwide,” he said.
“Clementina’s deep expertise and vision will significantly bolster our offering in Melbourne, and she will be at the coalface of the expansion into Adelaide.”
This news follows the naming of Nelson Arias-Alvarez as the firm’s new Sydney-based managing partner in September last year. PCL Lawyers now has offices across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide – and Arias-Alvarez said these strategic appointments would drive ongoing growth.
“These appointments underscore our strategic growth plan and our commitment to investing in exceptional legal talent. We believe their leadership will substantially contribute to our firm’s ongoing success and our mission of delivering superior client service,” he said.
