One of Australia’s biggest legal and consulting firms has appointed 12 new partners across six of its offices, effective 1 July.
MinterEllison has named 12 new partners across multiple practice areas, including energy and resources, corporate, projects, workplace, infrastructure, and consulting.
The dozen professionals joining the partnership, the firm said in a statement, “bring deep expertise” to their respective practice areas and “strengthen the firm’s ability to support clients in a rapidly changing environment and reflect its continued investment in the leadership and expertise needed to stay ahead of disruption and deliver excellent client service”.
The news follows the firm’s hire of a financial services expert from BigLaw rival Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer in November, its nabbing of seven partners from PwC in the same month, its appointment of a disputes partner from King & Wood Mallesons in October, and its hire of KPMG’s national real estate head as a new special counsel in September.
Speaking about the promotions, MinterEllison chief executive and managing partner Virginia Briggs (pictured) said: “I am delighted to welcome these 12 exceptional leaders to the partnership.
“Their appointments reflect our commitment to building a diverse partnership across legal and consulting.
“They also bring the necessary skills needed to collaborate with our clients, who share our ambition to drive strategic business agendas, solve complex problems, and intentionally evolve and change so we can prepare for the future.”
The 12 new partners are Heeyung Shin (consulting, Canberra), Stephen Clarke and Alex Other-Gee (corporate, funds, and energy and resources, Melbourne), Philip Marquet (corporate, funds, and energy and resources, Sydney), Lisa Papanicolaou (corporate, funds, and energy and resources, Adelaide), Jessie Earl (disputes, Perth), Tova Gordon (disputes, Sydney), Dean Levitan (disputes, Melbourne), James Horwood (projects, infrastructure, and construction and real estate, Brisbane), Matthew Thomson (projects, infrastructure, and construction and real estate, Sydney), Kate Pennicott (workplace, Brisbane), and Alishia Prpich (workplace, Melbourne).
All promotions are effective as of 1 July 2025.
