International arbitration firm Peter & Kim has expanded its global footprint with the opening of a new office in Perth, marking its sixth location worldwide.
Peter & Kim, a specialist arbitration firm, has expanded its Australian presence with the opening of its second office in Perth, Western Australia.
Since its founding in 2020, the international firm has experienced rapid growth and now operates across key global cities, with additional offices in Sydney, Singapore, Seoul, Geneva, and Zurich.
Establishing an office in Perth is a crucial step for Peter & Kim, as the firm emphasises that the city’s alignment with the time zones of Singapore and Hong Kong offers “strategic access to vital global markets”.
Peter & Kim also confirmed that its two Australian offices will operate in an “integrated fashion” to maintain consistency with the firm’s globally unified approach.
James Morrison, partner at Peter & Kim, who launched the firm’s Sydney office in 2020, described the opening of the Perth office as a natural next step, given Western Australia’s growing importance in the international arbitration landscape.
“Representation on both Australian coasts aligns with Peter & Kim’s considered growth strategy. Western Australia is a vital market for the development of international arbitration in Australia, as the home of leading international energy, mining and infrastructure companies, and with a strong arbitration community,” Morrison said.
“We look forward to continuing to support our clients’ needs across Australia and the wider region with high-quality international arbitration expertise in both commercial and investor-state dispute resolution.”
Peter & Kim co-founder Kap-You (Kevin) Kim expressed his enthusiasm for the firm’s continued expansion in Australia, highlighting the promising opportunities the new Perth office presents.
“We are delighted to have Peter & Kim further expand its offering and its impact within Australia and the region. Our integrated global team provides access to nearly 50 multilingual professionals trained in various civil and common law jurisdictions,” Kim said.
“We see many exciting opportunities to work with colleagues and clients in and from Perth and thank them for their support as we move forward.”
