National law firm Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers has appointed four new partners, one special counsel, two senior associates, and five new associates.
Carroll & O’Dea has elevated 12 lawyers to more senior roles, including four to its partnership, effective 1 July.
Newly appointed partners include Thomas Felizzi (compensation, Sydney), Matthew Forshaw (compensation, Wollongong), Greg McAllister (compensation, Sydney), and Aleisha Nair (compensation, Parramatta).
In addition to the new partners, Kate Flanigan (compensation, Sydney) has been promoted to special counsel, while Cameron Lee (compensation, Sydney) and Thomas Ryan (compensation, Parramatta) have been elevated to senior associate.
Additionally, the firm has appointed five associates, including Zara Ali (compensation, Melbourne), Luca Circosta (compensation, Sydney), Isidora Keesing (compensation, Sydney), Heidi Shooks (compensation, Sydney), and Hillary Tsang (compensation, Melbourne).
Speaking on the latest round of promotions, managing partner Hanaan Indari said the appointments reflect the firm’s “depth of talent, skill and commitment to excellence in client service”.
She added: “They also reflect my priority to develop a modern, truly balanced firm, which reflects a diversity of genders and backgrounds in leadership positions.”
Of the 12 promotions, half were awarded to women, bringing the promotion of female partners at the national firm to 42 per cent.
Indari stated that this achievement comes on the heels of Carroll & O’Dea reaching its 40:40:20 gender diversity target three years ahead of schedule.
“It follows the firm achieving its 40 || 40 || 20 target for gender diversity in leadership positions in the 2024–25 year, three years ahead of our target date. This is a great result for the firm, and also when compared with the legal profession overall,” she said.
“On behalf of the firm, I congratulate each one on their achievements and hard work.”
