National law firm McCabes is teaming up with AI-powered platform Cicero to deliver stronger client outcomes.
Cicero, an AI-powered platform specialising in streamlining the workflow for legal teams, is partnering with BigLaw firm McCabes for a multi-year agreement, providing integrated tools for document summaries, chronologies, investigations, and data extraction.
McCabes, in a statement, noted it will leverage the Cicero platform to create more efficient processes to deliver strong outcomes for clients across Australia.
The firm said: “Cicero enables legal teams to rapidly analyse lengthy documents and identify key data points, reducing the time traditionally spent on review and investigation. With robust tracking and reporting, Cicero supports McCabes’ commercial, government, and insurance divisions in focusing on the highest value legal work.”
The news follows Cicero’s partnership with Law In Order on an integrated tech solution into the US market in August and its partnership with Russell Kennedy, as reported in September.
Speaking about the firm’s use of the platform, McCabes managing principal Andrew Lacey said: “Adopting Cicero across the firm is a strategic step in how we deliver legal services. Using the tech allows us to make informed decisions with an extra layer of assistance and accuracy.”
“Cicero’s offering aligns with our objective to adopt technology that tangibly benefits our clients.”
The firm’s head of knowledge, Fiona Lymant, reinforced that efficiency and accuracy are the key benefits.
“We chose Cicero because it’s an AI-powered tool, tailored to our litigation workflows, that delivers significant time savings across the tasks it can assist with,” she said.
“With data sovereignty in Australia and robust data privacy and security measures to protect our firm and our clients’ information, adopting Cicero aligns perfectly with our commitment to secure, ethical, and effective use of AI in legal practice.”
The chief executive of Automatise (the company behind Cicero), Joe Rayment, said: “We’re delighted to work with McCabes on the firm-wide rollout of Cicero.”
“Their commitment to innovation means their lawyers can now harness Cicero’s technology to reduce time spent on document review, focus on higher-value work, and deliver even greater value for their clients.”
