DWF has promoted five to principal lawyer, two to special counsel, three senior associates, and one associate.
Reflecting its continued growth and investment in the insurance sector, DWF has made a series of promotions across its Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Newcastle offices.
The new principal lawyers are Holly Turner and Hilary Lee in its casualty team, Marissa Skaltsounis and John Dillon from the professional indemnity practice, and Chris Folder from both.
Newly elevated special counsel Peter Brownless and Alex Gillan are from DWF’s casualty team, both based in Newcastle.
The firm’s new senior associates are Matthew Rofe from professional indemnity, and Rebecca Dodd and Kelsey Fieldus from casualty.
Managing director Matt Curll said he was “thrilled to congratulate our newly promoted colleagues”.
“These promotions reflect the investment in our colleagues and investment in meeting the requests of our loyal client base to continue to build out our depth to meet their service needs nationally,” Curll said.
“Our promoted colleagues are a large part of our success, and their leadership and dedication exemplify DWF’s culture and the impact we strive for every day.”
DWF’s Australian business has more than doubled in size following the Proclaim acquisition and the integration of a 62-strong team from Hall & Wilcox.
Curll said there have been over 30 new hires between December and February.
In a message to the newly promoted lawyers, Curll said the promotions were “a fantastic milestone and well-deserved”.
“I’m proud of what each of you [has] achieved – and excited for what you will deliver our clients and communities in the years ahead as we build out the next 10 years of our long-term business plan in Australia,” Curll said.
Matthew Doughty, CEO of DWF Group, said the promotions reflected the depth of talent within the firm and its long-term commitment to Australia.
“As we continue to invest in our insurance capabilities globally, it is vital that we recognise and promote leaders who are delivering exceptional outcomes for clients and helping to share the future of our firm,” Doughty said.
