Tricia Moloney has departed Hamilton Locke for BigLaw rival Thomson Geer, joining its banking and finance practice.

She brings 30 years of advisory experience across the property, project, acquisition, and corporate finance sectors, as well as restructuring and insolvency and has represented borrowers and lenders in complex financial transactions.

Chief executive partner Adrian Tembel said: “Her strong technical capability, commercial mindset and collaborative approach make her an excellent fit for Thomson Geer and a valuable addition for our clients.”

Moloney had led large-scale transactions for top domestic and international financial institutions, the firm said, as well as alternative capital providers and private credit markets. She also advised the financiers involved in the $16.2 billion acquisition of Ausgrid, and on infrastructure projects including Marvel Stadium and the Adelaide to Darwin railway.

Tembel highlighted the firm’s dedication to investing in market-leading talent, saying: “Tricia is a highly respected banking and finance partner with deep experience across major transactions, institutional lending and alternative capital markets.”

Thomson Geer appointed Chuong Nguyen as a partner and special counsel Ellen Adianto in October 2025, also to its banking and finance team.

Moloney praised the firm’s “strong reputation for delivering high-quality, commercially grounded advice”.

She said: “I look forward to working with the team to support clients across their financing, restructuring and growth objectives.”
