All of Corrs Chambers Westgarth’s practice areas have been introduced to Harvey, a domain-specific AI platform designed to streamline workflows for legal and professional services.

It will allow Corrs’ lawyers to deliver fast, efficient advice while maintaining its standards of excellence and judgement, the firm said.

Marae Ciantar, chief of legal excellence and risk, added Harvey was chosen “after a thorough evaluation of the legal AI landscape”.

“Its ability to support complex legal work across all practice areas, together with a strong focus on security, quality and responsible use, aligns well with our firm’s AI strategy,” Ciantar said.

Corrs said it will focus on practical, high-impact use cases across the firm, including faster and high-quality document review, summarisation and analysis. The latter would assist with large volumes of documents in transactions and disputes.

Harvey will also support drafting grounded in Corrs’ precedent and knowledge base, and legal and regulatory research.

Its significant capabilities will support the firm’s commitment to high-quality advice, robust legal analysis, and commercial insight, in addition to enhancing client collaboration and innovation.

Winston Weinberg, Harvey’s chief executive, said they were pleased to support Corrs as a “highly influential firm”.

“Their decision reflects a clear, long-term view on how AI can be integrated into complex legal work at scale,” Weinberg said.

Harvey’s Australia country manager, Ashleigh Whittaker, added Corrs is well known for supporting leading organisations on complex M&A transactions, major projects and disputes.

“We are honoured to support their AI transformation and continued growth as a firm,” Whittaker said.

“We are delighted that they share our vision for AI, and mutual excitement with our roadmap for the Harvey platform.”

In addition to the firmwide rollout, Corrs has invested in training and change management to ensure AI is used responsibly.
