Highly experienced and nationally recognised lawyers Kelly Coulston and Wendy Fauvel have left Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer (HSF Kramer) for Lander & Rogers, effective Monday, 2 March.

Coulston has significant experience in complex commercial litigation, class actions, infrastructure disputes, corporate insolvency and investigations, having acted in major proceedings across jurisdictions.

Her practice includes defending complex class actions concerning continuous disclosure, negligence and consumer claims, advising on regulatory investigations, resolving disputes from large-scale infrastructure projects, and strategic claims management.

Having undertaken secondments as senior legal counsel to ASX-listed organisations, Coulston has managed a range of disputes and worked closely with project, commercial and operational leaders.

Partner-in-charge of the Brisbane office, Genevieve Dee, said she was delighted to welcome Coulston to the team.

“She brings strong litigation capability, deep experience in class actions and infrastructure disputes, and a highly commercial approach to dispute resolution,” Dee said.

“Kelly’s experience acting for ASX-listed clients and major contractors in complex, high-value disputes aligns strongly with our national disputes practice and our growth strategy in Queensland.”

Commenting on the move, Coulston said: “I am excited to be joining Lander & Rogers and to contribute to the continued growth and success of a nationally recognised disputes practice.

“The firm’s collaborative culture and strong client relationships make it an excellent platform to build a practice focused on practical, commercially effective dispute resolution.”

Fauvel has been recognised nationally for her expertise in enterprise bargaining and industrial disputes, having advised private and ASX-listed companies and worked closely with in-house HR, legal and executive teams to navigate reputationally sensitive matters.

Her experience includes leading responses to high-profile industrial disputes before the Fair Work Commission and the courts, and managing collective and individual employment disputes.

Fauvel has also authored and contributed to a range of publications and is sought after for industrial relations conferences.

Practice group leaders of the workplace relations and safety team, Sally Moten and Will Spargo, said Fauvel’s “strategic and commercially pragmatic approach will significantly strengthen our national [workplace relations and safety (WR&S)] capability”.

“Working alongside partners in our Sydney WR&S team, Jeremy Hanrahan, Adam Battagello, Mark Sullivan and Sally, her experience advising major employers across infrastructure, energy and government sectors aligns strongly with our client base and growth strategy.

“As we continue to invest in growing our market-leading workplace relations team nationally, Wendy’s technical expertise and strong client relationships will further enhance our ability to support employers navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape,” they said.

Fauvel said she was “delighted” to join Lander & Rogers.

“The firm’s national platform and strong reputation for pragmatic, client-focused advice provide an excellent opportunity to continue supporting employers through complex bargaining rounds and industrial disputes,” Fauvel said.
