LawConnect’s newly appointed CEO, David Vitek, said the acquisition of Australian lawyer marketplace Finchly will provide consumers with a “clearer pathway” for navigating complex legal issues and strengthen how firms receive and manage inquiries.

“Law firms are seeking more consistent, better-aligned enquiries that allow them to specialise and focus on high-value work, while consumers require clearer guidance when dealing with legal matters.

“The acquisition is designed to address these challenges,” Vitek said.

The acquisition will bring together LawConnect’s more than 167,000 customers – in the last 12 months – and Finchly’s network of more than 350 participating law firms. Finchly has also been adding an average of 120 to 150 new firms as customers per month.

Founder of LawConnect and parent company LEAP, Christian Beck, will oversee the strategic direction of the business at the group level.

“This acquisition brings our combined trust and complementary strengths together under one platform, allowing us to connect more people with the right legal support while continuing to deliver well-matched, high-quality enquiries to firms,” Beck said.

In his new role as CEO of LawConnect, Vitek will oversee the integration and development of its expanded marketplace offering.

He will lean on his experience of scaling digital platforms nationally from his time as co-founder of tradesperson marketplace, hipages.

Finchly co-founder Dino Talic – also from hipages as product executive – will join LawConnect as chief operating officer.

Vitek said this partnership builds on LawConnect’s deep relationships within the legal sector.

“Bringing Finchly into the business is a disciplined step forward in expanding the LawConnect platform and improving how legal services are discovered and delivered,” Vitek said.

“We see a future where accessing legal help is no longer overwhelming or uncertain.

“This is about more than integration; it’s about building the foundational infrastructure for a more accessible and transparent legal marketplace that works better for all.”
