Following about six years in private practice, Olimpia St George has returned to Svenson Barristers’ in the role of barristers’ clerk.

St George started within Svenson Barristers’ clerking and accounts team while she completed her law degree.

She then completed the practical component of her degree at McGowan Family Lawyers in 2020, and, after being admitted, practised as a solicitor at Zervos Lawyers from 2021.

St George has practised in commercial litigation, retail lease disputes, contracts, insolvency, and family law. She has also worked extensively in common law matters within legal support teams.

Commenting on her return to the List, St George said she is looking forward to combining her earlier clerking experience with private practice knowledge to provide informed and practical support.

“I’m excited to have a front-row seat to the Victorian Bar and to build strong professional relationships with Svenson’s counsel and lawyers around Melbourne,” St George said.

“I believe my relationship with counsel will be more honest, given my recent experience in private practice.”

St George said that as a qualified lawyer, she understands what solicitors “actually need from counsel”.

“This insight will allow me to allocate work more intelligently, anticipate issues, and speak credibly with solicitors and counsel,” she said.

The team at Svenson Barristers said they were pleased to welcome St George Back and look forward to her contributions.
