An insurance partner with extensive specialist knowledge has been nabbed by Colin Biggers & Paisley, along with her team of three.
On her firm switch, partner Jennifer Robbins said she was drawn by Colin Biggers & Paisley’s reputation “across the insurance legal market for its work with both Australian and London market insurers”.
“I am thrilled to be joining a team that is committed to client excellence and delivery of outcome-focused legal solutions,” Robbins said.
Special counsel Mitchell Jensen, senior associate Tommy Evans, and solicitor Matthew Ellish have moved over with Robbins.
Robbins has over 15 years of experience as a commercial litigator and complex insurance coverage specialist.
She brings with her extensive specialist knowledge focusing on claims involving financial lines, financial institutions, directors and officers (D&O) liability, and professional indemnity.
Robbins’ significant efforts advising clients on emerging risks and regulatory developments in financial technology complement the existing capabilities of the practice and investment in the sector.
Managing partner at Colin Biggers & Paisley, Andrew Murray, said the appointments reflect the continued evolution of its practice.
“The strength and growth of our insurance practice has been built deliberately over time, grounded in deep sector expertise and longstanding client relationships,” Murray said.
“Expanding our national insurance capability through senior and strategic hires is a natural step for the practice, ensuring we are well positioned to support clients as the insurance landscape continues to mature and evolve.”
Insurance practice group co-lead Gavin Creighton said the appointment of Robbins and her team “adds further depth to our insurance practice and continues to strengthen the expertise, scale and capability of our national offering across complex insurance coverage and financial lines matters”.
Robbins said she was looking forward to collaborating “with a team of highly skilled legal professionals in the insurance group”.
This includes Patrick Cavanagh, Keith Bethlehem, Michael Russell, and Patrick Boardman.
In October 2024, the latter also moved over from Clyde & Co with his team: special counsel Susanna Khouri and Antonia Rose, solicitor Ashlee Blannin and legal assistant Victoria Tripi.
